Move and Rename refactorings don't result in correct VCS/git state in 2017.3 - anyone else seen this?

Just updated to IntelliJ 2017.3 today.
If I do a move or rename of one of our classes, the result (and commit dialog) shows the old file as being deleted and the 'new' file is not added.
Is anyone else seeing this?
Any workaround?

BTW Using macOs Sierra
and git version shows
git version 2.13.6 (Apple Git-96)
Seems like you reported the same in YouTrack.
It has already been reported by other users, please see https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-181823
