Freeze Up Until gdbtimeout on Clion 2017.3

After updating to CLion 2017.3, whenever I stop the debugger the CLion environment freezes and becomes non-responsive until a gdb timeout occurs. I use both local gdb and remote gdb to an ARM target and this now happens on both. It did not happen in the previous version. Another developer in my group is experiencing the same problem. Is there any plan to fix this? It's becoming annoying having to wait nearly a minute every time I try stop gdb. I'm running on Linux Mint 18.3.
