PyCharm remote R error on Ubunut, No rplugin directory?

Hey everyone,

I have a similar - if not same issue as reported [here]( I understand that there is an [open issue]( for this already too.

However, I'm running PyCharm professional Version 2022.2.3. on ubuntu 20.04.5.
I can't apply the recommended workaround since I simply don't have a rplugin directory. But "R language for IntelliJ" is installed and I can use it normally (if not with the remote setup).

Is there any other way I can use the workaround to get the remote R interpreter working?
