High CPU usage after editing code
Whenever I edit code (Typescript project), my laptop's CPU usage spikes causing the CPU temps going to ~92-98C for about 10 seconds. I have never had this issue on a desktop PC. What is Idea doing in the background? I'm guessing that it is using most cores, so is there a way to make it not? That should at least decrease the CPU usage. I haven't noticed this issue on a Python project I have. Also, my laptop is a high end one.

Hello, please collect a CPU snapshot while reproducing the issue as per these instructions: https://www.jetbrains.com/help/webstorm/how-to-improve-product-performance.html#ws_improve_performance_report_issues
Then create a new issue in https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/WEB and provide the collected snapshot and logs.
Thanks!
I'm writing here because I have same problem, and I'm tired of this situation. I've been working with this bug on background for the last 6 months and I hate this problem.

Please support help us
Please try capturing a CPU snapshot while reproducing the issue so that we can investigate it:
1) Help > Diagnostic tools > Start CPU usage profiling
2) perform the actions which are causing the high CPU usage
3) Help > Diagnostic tools > Stop CPU usage profiling
and submit them along with the logs (Help | Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data) within a support ticket as it's suggested above
