Remote Development via SSH only sometimes possible

Hi, is here someone using the remote development capabilities of IntelliJ? 

I am sometimes use it and then it suddenly stops. I read the documentation on it and tried to reset my setup by removing ~/.cache/JetBrains on the remote machine. 

But I am still not able to setup a remote IDE again. Everytime I try to set it up again I am in the Run the IDE Remotely dialog. On the remote machine is only a file in the directory ~/.cache/JetBrains/RemoveDev/remote-dev-worker/remote-dev-worker_<something>.

Any idea how to setup a remote environment properly?

Hello,

Can you please try removing the related to IDE content of the following folders:

/home/user/.config

/home/user/.cache

and in case issue is still reproduced, please share the Gateway and Host logs:

  • logs from Gateway (you may click on gear icon and select Collect Logs and Diagnostic data action),
  • logs from Host (here is the sample of logs location: /home/user/.cache/JetBrains/RemoteDev-IU/_home_user/log)
