Switching Users Once Logged during Remote Development On PHPSTORM

Some systems or servers have user protection for example you login with a sudo account however to make file changes you need to switch to another user from the sudo account otherwise you cannot modify files in this server. How can we make it possible to allow switching on internal server users after connecting to the remote hosts using the sudo root account.  Currently I can log into my server for remote development but I cant modify any files because I need to switch to an internal user in the server.
