Our security got curious about the hardcoded DNS queries intellij is sending.

Can you tell us more about this behaviour, why this is necessary or how we could disable it.
For our security deparment this looks strange and we need you to provide us some more information about this.

This was already explained in the linked thread. If you do not block JetBrains servers resolution on your DNS server, hardcoded servers will not be used. It's a part of the licensing protection scheme and cannot be disabled.
We read about this, but we are in an airgaped enterprise and are not able to easyly unblock this.
The hardcoded dns requests are producing a high amount of firewall notifications! How will this help you in any way? The requests with the hardcoded dns will be blocked from the firewall as well.
Can you provide a solution for this problem for enterprise customers?
Our security is about to build some pressure and is discussing a shutdown of the software if we can't provide answers or stop the requests.

What IDE registration method do you use?
We are using the offline registration code to use intellij.
Switching the license server / license vault will resolve this issue. It's specifically designed for such cases.
