launching pycharm returns 'java.lang.NullPointerException'
I am trying to launch pycharm-community-2021.3.1 on my linux machine. As I launch it, I can see it is partially launched. python console is not enables and even clicking on the setting, I cannot modify anything. On the linux terminal I see the following error:
ERROR - ctionSystem.impl.ActionUpdater - Exception 'java.lang.NullPointerException'
this error was reported 500 times. Any suggestions on how to fix the issue?

As a general troubleshooting step, please try to upgrade PyCharm to the most recent 2024.1.4 version and check if the issue persists on it.
If so, please share logs from Help | Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data after reproducing the issue. Please upload it to https://uploads.services.jetbrains.com and let me know the upload ID.
Thank you for the suggestion. I installed the latest version and the issue is resolved. In the older version I was able to set the path for the python interpreter but in the new version after setting the interpreter I cannot set the path. I am wondering if there is a way to do that or if it is not needed at all?

Mehrnoosh Tboroojerdi , does it look like this issue: PY-72554? If so, can you re-create the interpreter as a workaround?
