PHPStorm Failed To Save Settings

Hello all,

  First time user of PHPStorm here. So I've configured my PHP installation, and my server settings, and I keep getting a "Failed to save settings. Please restart PHPStorm" error on startup. 

I'm not sure what information I should provide to help diagnose this problem. I'm running 64 bit Linux Mint 17 Qiana, and using XAMPP for my development.

What version of PhpStorm are you running? What's the installation path? 

Please upload somewhere your idea.log file (Help > Show log in ...) after this occurs so we could take a look.
