Unable to make a datasource connection or oracle

 I have a fresh install of datagrip that I downloaded today.  OS X 10.11.6

I am trying to create a oracle datasource and am getting the following error:

Error: Connection to Oracle - @vmcmsdf.richmond.edu failed. Io exception: Connect identifier was empty.

I have double checked the connection information.  I have also tried reinstalling datagrip but the original data source I created was still there. I wanted to start completely fresh.

I just connected successfully to the db using the database connector in phpStorm using the same connection information.  The drivers are different versions.  

 

I would like to be able to use datagrip standalone.
