Typing does not replace selected text in IntelliJ
已回答
Help! I'm in the editor, I select some text and type what I would like there instead. It does not replace the text, type the character or even change the selection -- I think some letters have particular effects, but I don't really want to make this a research pursuit. I'm using macos at home and Windows 7 at work, it's not OS-specific. Also, when I type 'delete' on macos, it just extends the selection backward (although fn+delete works great.)
TextEdit behaves as one would expect. Why does IntelliJ not act more like TextEdit?

Did you install and enable IdeaVim plug-in? Disable it: http://www.jetbrains.com/idea/webhelp/enabling-and-disabling-plugins.html.
Brilliant. I was going to chuck it all and go be a lawyer or something. You're a lifesaver.
