Editing Existing Code vs. Entering New Code

Hi,

I find the automatic insertion of balancing punctuation such as close parentheses, brackets and quote marks to be very disruptive when I'm editing existing code instead of entering new code.

I would like to see this behavior not occur when there are any non-blank characters to the right of the cursor (on the same line).
