Refactor rename broken in IDEA 2024.4.1
I'm trying to refactory names in a python file using IDEA 2024.4.1. This used to work, but no longer is. After pressing Shift-F6 and typing in the name I want the target variable to become, when I hit enter the name new reverts to the original name. This is frustrating.
There have been a few other posts but their solutions don't work or are not (Scala formatter) are not available to me.
Any suggestions how to fix this? This did use to work.

I have a video I can upload showing this.
I tried to reproduce the issue in a simple python file, but couldn't:
Could you please share the mentioned screen recording? You can upload it here: https://uploads.jetbrains.com, just provide the uploaded file ID. Could you try to temporarily disable all downloaded/non-bundled plugins? Also, please share a sample project/file to try and reproduce the issue on our end.
Thanks!

The project is one that I do a bunch of rapid prototyping in python.
And this morning it is working for me.
Thank you for the video recording. Were there any changes from yesterday to today?
Did you maybe update the IDE or some plugin? Is it usually sporadic - sometimes it works fine and sometimes it fails as shown in the screen recording?
I did turn off Github co-pilot, potentially suspecting that perhaps it was causing the issue. After rebooting I still had the problem. The problem went away the next day, but unfortunately I cannot correlate that with any actions of mine.
This can be closed.
Thank you for the information. Glad to hear it is working as expected now.
If the issue reoccurs, please let us know.
