Any plans to carry on Atlassian Connector (JIRA, etc) support?

Recently Atlassian made an announcement about discontinuing the development and support for their Atlassian Connector plugins. The plugins provided seamless and very convenient integration between the IDE and Atlassian products such as JIRA, etc.  Therefore, for many developers the news came as a huge disappointment.  The latest version of JIRA is no longer compatible with the last available version of Atlassian Connector.

So many teams use JIRA, and the Connector was arguably one of the most useful productivity-enhancing plugins.  I am wondering if JetBrains would consider picking up the IDEA Connector development (the code is publicly available) and make it part of built-in IDEA plugins?
