Custom Ant Tasks Setting Properties

Is there any way via the Open API to alter the ant integration when editing regitered ant scripts? The simple use case is you have a custom task that sets properties. In Idea these appear as errors when you reference them.

There should be a way of registering the settable properties of a custom task...and don't say 'Add the properties to the Ant Properties window manually.'.
