"file changed on server" red notification in changes view not appearing anymore?

Please check the value of option Version Control | Background | "Changed
on server" conflicts | Check every...

I used to find very useful the red notification that appeared on the
Changes view near the files in a changelist, notifying me when some of
the various files I am editing have been changed on the (perforce)
server.

For some reason those red marks no longer appear, even if IDEA knows
about the outdated files because if I open one I get a yellow line
notifying me on top of the editor. Does anyone know if there's a
setting that I might have inadvertently turned off? Anything else I
should check?update
