Maven Integration Improvement

Not sure if this is the right place for this, it's a wish list. I run most projects directly from the Maven 2 POM, since I'm in a corporate environment and most people use (ugh) Eclipse. I use the "create temporary modules" option because it's easiest when the pom changes to just reload the project.

I'd like there to be an ide wide setting, simliar to JDK where there is a named object for Maven with maven home, maven conf and maven repo, but it could be overriden per project. I recently changed from maven 2.0.7 to 2.0.8 and I had to re-create all my projects.
