Whey does run/debug output gets cleared on exception?

While running a a test I have some logging sent to the Output tab. If the test passes, the log statements remain in the Output tab.However, if the code throws an exception during the test, the Output is cleared before the exception is written.

Is this a bug? Or is there a setting to disable this behavior?
