State of the Scala plugin? No updates?

The version history linked off http://confluence.jetbrains.com/display/SCA/Scala+Plugin+for+IntelliJ+IDEA suggests the Scala plugin is no longer being developed. Last update was 2011. Has it been abandoned? I like the Java support in IntelliJ, but I need Eclipse for the ScalaIDE plugin. Scala offers a "presentation compiler" API now... maybe the plugin could use that?
