Can I make the size of the code completion fixed? Sometime it get so tiny I can't see the option (1mm thick). This is realy frustrating :(
Using IntelliJ 11.1.5 on Ubuntu 12.04

It is hardly related to the problem described in the initial post, as more than 7 years have passed.
May you show the screenshot of the issue you are talking about?
I curently have the problem too: Ctrl+Enter opens the completion window, but the window is so smal, that only a line appears. I have to enlarge it each time with the mouse.

I suddenly got this same problem.
Before installing a Python Package (termcolor) and restarting, it was working fine.
The problem seems to only affect monitors with higher pixel heights (at least on 1440px), and also on those monitors it is working normally if the window is only half the height.
If you change the height of the IDE, the problem gradually gets worse until the IDE is on the full height for that monitor.
