Now that 6.0.2 is out...
Today at lunch I was sitting close to a lady who was having
a donut for desert which reminded me to ask: When can we
expect the 6.5 EAP? (Or will there be one in the first
place?) I think this would make a nice Christmas present for
the IDEA-fans.
Best regards,
Jens

Of course there will be an EAP, but it's too early to tell exactly when.
That will depend on the progress of various major internal modifications
that we'll be doing.

Would be nice if you post to the EAP announcements forum, too.
While 6.0.2 isn't a new EAP version, those who currently run the latest EAP are probably interested in the fact that there is a final version.

Any public plans for the 6.5 release?
Will it be purely performance / polish or are there big new features?
Yep this one has caught me out a few times too. I generally only see the
announcements in eap.announcements so unless I get lucky (this time by seeing
6.0.2 mentioned on http://blogs.jetbrains.com/idea/), it often takes me quite
a while to notice a final release.

Still coming soon. :)

There certainly will be new features. Medium-sized, I'd say. :)

R
+1, I also follow only the EAP.
