Error popup window

Whenever an error occurs in IDEA (which I find fairly frequent with the EAP), the small red popup window at the bottom-right of IDEA appears. (I don't mean the dialog which contains the exception).
Is there any way to stop this dialog coming up?
If not, is there any way I can hide it without having to use the mouse? Currently, it seems it only goes away when the mouse is clicked - you can't use the keyboard AFAIK.
