Rarely but does happen: intellij editor files corruption

Intellij does auto saving of files. This works great 99.something percent of the time. Even when i have to kill ps -ef, it only loses a few seconds worth.   But there are rare occasions when  intellij in memory representation apparently gets corrupted - and it loses minutes to tens of minutes of editing.  That is quite painful.   

Wondering if there were some info about this?

I am using 10.5.4 Ultimate.
