Maven support for defined tasks

Does the maven support attempt to use any bespoke commands within the pom such as running maven-antrun-plugin / aspectj-maven-plugin

It would be good if the pom was the project file, but wondering if intellij can invoke these bespoke commands at the defined phase ?
