1.) Enable the 'show virtual space...' option. 2.) Open a rather large Java source file. 3.) Scroll to the bottom by pressing .
4.) Press +.
5.) Press ]]>. 6.) Move the vertical scrollbar to its very end.
You will see that in steps 3 through 6 the visual portion of the file is moved upwards for a certain amount.
If you disable the option then the file position remains the same in steps 4 through 6.
