in less then a day around 120 Exceptions reported on 944
I just had a look at the tracker and saw that since it's release yesterday there have already been around 120 Exceptions reported for build 944. While much of this may be "noise"
in all I have found this EAP much less stable then the Aridana EAP and while I really like the new features and am willing to except some instability I have been having problems working with this EAP.
I would really like to see an effort to stabilize the EAP a little. I believe we EAP users provide valuable feedback and even save money on QA with better testing coverage.
I for one would like to be coddled a little in return.

I think that folk used to ignore exceptions as long as they didn't crash the app.
Now they can report them with a button click, maybe that's why a lot more are showing up.
good so now they have the ability to make idea rock solid! Dosn't change the feeling I have that this EAP is not as solid as the previous round

The 944 build does have some real issues especially when it comes to
debugging JSP code. I see that some of the issues I've uncovered have
been reported, part of the issues are with exceptions thrown, so I'm
waiting for the next build to see if it's better. In the mean time I
just need to quit and restart IDEA to shake things out.

I was going to file a feature request to get JSR45 out the door with
Aurora because the Jakarta site has the only build of Tomcat we can use
right now in their Archives and the 5.0 version is already in beta, and
pretty usable. Any chance we can get JSR45 support for Aurora?

Again I don't care. I do care that I could work with Aridana almost all the time and have had major problems with Aurora I have had a lot of problems. The exceptions are just a good way to bring the point home!

i have had very little problems with aurora releases. I think two builds didn't work so good, but hey, it's eap, if i want no bugs i'll use major releases only

Funny I thought programmers needed intelligence not machismo.
In case you don't get the point the EAP is not just for thrill seekers it serves an important function for both IntelliJ and us.
It helps IntelliJ get good feedback early on and reduce the number of bugs in the final release.
It allows us to help bring up issues that are important to us early enough so they can be addressed.
All that can't happen if the EAP is so frustrating to use that we don't.
I don't expect it to be production level I do expect it to be unusable!
