Can custom JUnit runners be used with the JUnit integration

I have a custom JUnit runner that I need to use since it does some additional setup, etc. Is there a way for me to use this runner with the JUnit integration? I saw a message asking this same question, but it was from 2002. I'm hoping that something was added to IntelliJ since that post.
