Ubuntu / Gnome Desktop Effects
I have a dual head Ubuntu system running Gnome on an NVidia video card.
If I start IDEA with desktop effects enabled, IDEA starts, but it is
just a white (or gray) window. Nothing is rendered inside the frame, but
I know stuff is there because if I right click, the correct context menu
opens up.
If I enable desktop effects after starting IDEA, everything seems to
work fine.
Any ideas why this might be?

As usual, as soon as I posted this I found the fix in Google - upgrade
your java.
I just installed 1.6.03 and the problem went away. I was previously
running 1.6.0.
Sorry for the noise.
