PhpStorm does NOT include all the features of WebStorm

Just thought I'd throw this out there:

JetBrains has been telling people that PhpStorm includes everything WebStorm does. This is not true. There's no Meteor support in PhpStorm.

So unfortunately, these are two separate products that don't cover everyone's needs unless you buy both (if you work with PHP at all). I really wish they would just combine these into a single IDE. Add PHP support to WebStorm, then phase out PhpStorm (the name is too specific).

Thoughts on this?

Hi there,

JetBrains has been telling people that PhpStorm includes everything WebStorm does.

That is correct.

This is not true. There's no Meteor support in PhpStorm.

Very interesting theory...

Have you installed Meteor support plugin in PhpStorm?

You are wrong.

Ah! I wasn't aware that it was a separate plugin. I'll give that a shot, thanks for pointing that out.

So just to be clear, PhpStorm does everything WebStorm does, plus full PHP support?

PhpStorm = WebStorm + PHP + Databases

Actually, the one difference might be that WebStorm is more frequently updated with new front-end/JS technologies, and PhpStorm has a slower update schedule.

WebStorm is obviously more frequently updated, because it is only WebStorm.

As pointed out previousl:

PhpStorm = WebStorm + PHP + Databases
