Keyboard shortcuts - IDEA on Fedora Core 5?

I'm running IDEA 5.1.1 on Fedora Core 5 and in general it works pretty good. However, I'm having trouble getting some of the keyboard shortcuts to work such as F3, Alt-F7, and some others. I've gone through the Fedora Keyboard Shortcuts Preferences and I don't see any commands that should be receiving those key shortcuts and overriding IDEA. Any suggestions are welsome.
