Any comments about new lightbulb position?

I know I'm really lazy, but when the lightbulb is on the left, I have to
move the mouse on a longer distance, thus taking more time than the former
position. Because, I have to put the cursor where the piece of code is
grayed out, then on the right margin to click again to see what suggestion
is there.
More mouse movement = more time spent.
For one, I prefer the old behaviour.

Don't you like Alt+Enter?

I like it, but you introduced a bug with this change. Sometimes when the line is too long, the lightbulb is displayed too far on the left that is actually not visible on the screen and when I press Alt-Enter I see only half of the intention window. (see the attached picture).

As long as the text does not start at the left margin, in which case
the lightbulb covers it.

I expected it would be inside the left margin along with the other
markers, which I still think might be a reasonable alternative (also
with respect to covering code). Apart from that, I consider it an
improvement

I agree. The gutter would be the ideal position for the light bulb. It could potentially cover a break point marker or book mark or line number or something but I prefer that to covering up the code.

BTW this is the location that eclipse has chosen too.

Hey, that's right Mike !!!
I used to move my mouse, but Alt-enter is much quicker
I love shortcuts :o)
As I can use a shortcut, now I don't care about the position of the
lightbulb.
Thank you Mike

I'm not sure if this is a result of the new bulb position:

I add a method that throws an exception, my cursor is now just after the
';'. 'blaBla()' is highlighted as an error because the enclosing
method does not declare the exception. But in order to get the intention
via alt-Enter, I need to cursor back a character.

I don't remember having to cursor back in 651. Am I wrong? In any case,
I would prefer if the availability of the intention include the method
call's semicolin.

As to the bulb placement, I prefer gutter.

Ditto. Current position is good, but gutter would be better.

I like the original position. What I don't like is the Import Class
intention. Its waaay to intrucive. It should behave like the other intention
actions imho. The way it's done now makes it impossible to view "old"
Classes and jsp files in the project tree, like jsp files and classes that
use older versions of a framework you are developing where more or less
everything by the concepts changed. Viewing such files is nothing but Esc to
get the Import Intention Action to disappear.
