[SUGGESTION] Posting convention

Now that this group is where we must post bugs, feature requests, etc, etc,
I'd like to suggest a common listserv practice of annotating the subject
with a label. It is common courtesy and makes filtering a lot easier.

So, if you are posting a feature request, the subject could read

MDI interface

A bug found in build 650 could be reported as

CPU at 100%

You get the picture.

No, this group is to discuss EAP (including bugs and features).
To report a bug or feature you go to www.intellij.net and file
a report. Then watch it in the .tracker. newsgroups.

I have been bringing up problems here first, frequently, because with
some of the new features I'm often not sure if I'm seeing a bug or I've
just configured something wrong. Is this good practise, or should I be
logging things on tracker more aggressively?

I disagree: See first post to this group by Sergey Zhukov.

So? He says they merged the newsgroups.

Originally, the *.bugs newsgroup was used to report a bug. They then
manually entered the bug into their system. Now, we can enter the
bug ourselves and vote for it. And track the status.

The same with *.features group.

So now the specialized newsgroups for reporting bugs are not needed.
Just one general EAR to discuss everything.

I'd say you are doing exactly what we all should do:
- check the tracker
- ask the community
- file the bug report
