How oh how do I turn off the property bundles?

I feel like I've flipped every switched, toggled every icon, checked every setting...Can't turn this thing off.

It'd be neat if it were a little smarter. Is there a way I can specifically assign a file to a bundle? Maybe I'm just dumb.
