Idea 5 & Norton AntiVirus

Does anyone know what Idea 5 is doing that keeps making Norton Antivirus flash a warning that it is attempting to access the network. I don't recall the exact port but I believe it is a UDP type request.

What is Idea doing? Reporting back to homebase?
What if I say block permanently, will Idea still work?

Probably checking that there are no other copies of IDEA running with the
same license on your network. Or checking for updates.
