Why is my code highlighting so dreadful

I have to believe this is some setting somehwere. The same happens with a basic HTML file, why does it have all this god awful coloring?

Hi there,

You can change to another editor color scheme (or create your own by copying existing one first) via:

  • Settings (Preferences on Mac) | Editor | Colors & Fonts
  • View | Quick Switch Theme... | Switch Color Theme

Correct.

Editor color scheme affects Editor only (and some elements of tool windows).

If you want to change colors for whole IDE (to a dark one, for example), you have to change GUI Theme (Settings | Appearance)
