IDEA 4.5.4 and jdk1.5

I am running on Windows 2000. I use to be able to run the debugger on my project, make a change to a file and then compile that one file (dependent classes would get recompiled). This no longer works. I have to recompile the entire project every time I make a change.

Also, the project compiles are now taking almost 15 minutes.

Is there a patch for any of this?
