CheckStyle

Has anyone used the CheckStyle plug-in for IDEA ?

I gave it a run but I couldn't seem to see a
"A toolwindow will appear on the bottom the IDEA main frame " - this is the
complete contents of the user guide by the way.

This software appears to be in pre-alpha stage, anyone heard any news of
creating a stable, fully functional and documented version ?
