Why SHIFT+ESC instead of ALT+1 toggle?
Hi there,
im still happy with IDEA and im a hotkey addict. I wonder why (when
switching tool windows) i have to use SHIFT-ESC to hide them again?
I really would like to have a toggle feature so that pressing ALT+1 would
bring up the project window and pressing that again would hide it (just like
SHIFT+ESC does it now).
Is that possible somewhere or am i the only one that would like to see that?
is this possible via a plugin? i would happily start to work on one then.
Greetings,
Thomas

Have you tried the "auto-hide" functionality (push-pin icon on title bar,
"Auto Hide Mode" in Window menu)? (As a fellow hotkey addict, I find a
simple ESC a lot easier to type than SHIFT-ESC.)

that?
The problem is that Alt-]]> shortcuts not only show the tool window but also
put the focus into it (so it has some effect even when the tool window is
shown already). This makes it not easy to found some consistent concept for
such actions that allows "toggling".
Yes, I think this should be quite possible. You may try it.
