PHPStorm - Emacs Mode Question

Quick question, how do I bind to mark start in PHPStorm? As in, CTRL + Space in emacs, so that I can select a region? I searched keybindings, but didn't see anything initially.

EDIT: Also, I have page up bound to option-v, but it keeps typing a check mark (or square root?). How can I prevent this?
