Download from any remote host seems slow
Hello phpStorm Team :-)
Relative to some ftp clients i use or a simple ssh connection to the remote server.
( I have a Linux Debian 6.0 + KDE machine )
Even when starting a new projetc from sftp. it can take an hour for a 50MB project to download
from a remote server in a local LAN. very strange.
It only happens within phpStorm IDE.
Is it java?

Still it makes sense to look at deployment log, just to make sure about your particular case.
Can you please follow the steps at http://www.jetbrains.net/devnet/docs/DOC-1202 and attach log file to this thread or to the issue?

I am attaching a log file
I have downloaded 406 files (a folder) from the server
and then uploaded the same files back to the server.
It is a 7Mb Download / 700Kb Upload Cable connection to the internet.
