PHPStorm 2016.1 re-indexing project every time it's opened

After upgrading to phpstorm 2016.1, every single time I re-open a project after switching, phpstorm re-indexes the entire project. These are rather large projects and the re-index takes about 2-3 minutes on my i7 vPro / 840 evo ssd laptop, which quickly amounts to half an hour of productivity loss per day on certain days where project switching is frequent. I've got several scripts that interact with my phpstorm window so having multiple projects open at the same time is not a solution I can temporarily impose :(

Hi there,

There is no reliable way to say why it's happenings without seeing the logs.

You may try this:

Close IDE (or this project at least)
Backup and delete .idea subfolder (this project settings)
Launch IDE and using "Open" point to the project root -- IDE will create new project from those files
Reconfigure your project as needed
Restart IDE / cloese-reopen project (do what you did in the past where it lead to project re-indexing)
Any better now?
If yes, and you have not re-configured ALL aspects of the project yet -- then you may re-use some of the files from previously made backup (while IDE/project is closed, of course)
