no subfolders in a project created from existing source?

I was trying to use Pycharm to see how I liked the javascript tools on a directory that contains only html/php/js, but when I create a project from existing sources or open the folder, the subfolders like /js and /css don't show up in the project.

Is there a way to add them?  I'm using 2.0.2 currently.
