How specific is RM to Rails?

Hello, all.  I've concluded that Rails is a huge thing, and that maybe a smaller framework would be more suitable to much of my work.  I've been following Lotus for a few weeks, and wonder whether RM could work well with it.  It seems well-thought out and is approachable.
