Check for Updates No Result/Confirmation?

I am running Ruby Mine 4.5.4 on OSX 10.6.8

When I run "Check for Updates", either under the RubyMine menu or under Preferences, nothing apparently happens. No dialog that I am up to date or anything. Is this as intended?

it looks like a bug and it looks like the problem has been fixed in RM 5.0 RC
