Dialog boxes coming up just a few pixels wide in 3.2beta

I installed and started to use RubyMine 3.2beta this morning, on a Ubuntu 10.10 machine, using Suns JDK 1.6.20 and have been vexed by a weird problem.
In a rails project, I added a new file, and both the dialog for the filename to use, and the one asking if it should be added to the git repo have very odd behavior.  Pictures enclosed.

1. They come up just a couple of pixels wide.
2. They come up centered vertically, but horizontally they are flush with the left side of the RubyMine main window.
