Remote ruby debugging

Is the Ruby Debugging likely to be extended to support connecting to a remote ruby rails server? i.e. using rdebug -c -h other_host

We run our ruby services in a VM running on our Macs, so remote debugging would be a killer feature.

We already have an issue on support remote debugging in RubyMine: http://www.jetbrains.net/jira/browse/RUBY-1885.
