In live mode: It seems that I can select multiple methods, but when I go
to drag them, the selection is thunked back to a single method. Is it
possible to support multiple method dragging?

Multiple selection is supported, but you have to keep the mouse down after the last selection is made (or the Drag & Drop piece interferes and starts the selection over).
To make a contiguous selection, click the first entry, shift-click the last entry and keep the mouse down, then start dragging.
To make a discontiguous selection, use ctrl-click, but when you're selecting the last one keep the mouse down and start dragging.
