So, I'm not the Mike A. you meant, but I've got a really simplistic and
somewhat ugly first pass at something that will allow you to diff
between the file in the editor and any other arbitrary file. (Not
exactly what you wanted, but I thought this sounded a bit more like
something that I would use.) I'm putting it up on the wiki now.
