Error strip and diff colours in EAP 14

New error strip and diff colours in EAP 14 are just horrible. They all look so dark and dull, regardless of what I do with the colour picker. Is there some sort of opacity added to the error strip marks? If that's the case, I'd very much like to have an option to turn that off/set the old colour scheme as not only it looks ugly but also makes it hard to distinguish between different types(and especially subtypes) of marks.
