99.5 wont start on OS X if you have a 9.x license installed
Under Mac OS X, I get a warning about the license not being valid, and then IDEA shutsdown.
Under Windows, I simple got the "Enter License or select 30 day eval" dialog.

OK, I can choose "Enter License" and then select the 30 day eval.
This is different than under Windows (and I upgraded to 99.5 on Windows first).
